Using data from the Waze application, which the big data team tracked for more than three years, it was possible to identify the main traffic jams in the City of Rio de Janeiro, as well as the way and time they are formed, how they spread and who they affect . Using the same data, used in conjunction with the survey conducted by the Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro - FIRJAN that measured the financial losses with traffic jams, the data intelligence office was able to estimate the cost of each of the traffic areas. This work, besides allowing to compare traffic jams, made possible a better analysis of the investments necessary for its solution.
